One day as we were collecting images for our weekly Saturday Marnin Cartoons email, we came across a beautiful image of a little old lady hand-painting the outside of her small cottage with blue floral designs. It stuck with us. When we began selling the darling hand-painted ceramics of artist Maggie Robertson, we knew one day we wanted her to hand-paint furniture for us to evoke the same charm and detail as seen in that image. There is something so special about a hand-painted chair. We collected this classic wingback set and knew this was the perfect canvas for Maggie to work her magic. To begin, each chair and the ottoman were stripped and painted a beautiful ivory color. Maggie then painted one of her signature motifs, The Tree of Dream Birds, on each chair. For the upholstery, we chose a chic heavy weight linen in bone by Rose Uniacke. Each seat cushion and ottoman cushion is 100% feather-filled. Finishing the upholstery is a double welt crafted from vintage indigo fabric to complement the blue painting. A pair of lumbar pillows in the same indigo fabric add the perfect touch. These are truly one of a kind and destined for a very special home.
Chairs are 31 W x 27 D x 47 H x 20 SH in, Ottoman is 26 W x 21.5 D x 18.5 H in
Wood, Linen and Indigo fabrics.
Excellent. Hand-painted by Maggie Robertson and newly upholstered in Saint Louis.
