Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen Egg Chair and Ottoman Restored in California Sheepskin
Ask any lover of mid-century furniture to name the top 5 iconic chairs of mcm design and we guarantee the Egg chair would be on that list. The Forsyth design team was over the moon when we collected the amazing, original Arne Jacobsen Egg chair. Jacobsen was a true visionary as an architect and designer, and his Egg chair is the epitome of Danish mid-century design. Jacobsen originally designed the Egg chair in 1958 for the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, Denmark. Set on a steel rotating base, the Egg Chair allows sitters to swivel toward a conversation or away from others for more privacy.
We've restored this Egg with brand new upholstery of incredibly soft and plush sheepskin. These special sheepskins are Lake County, California. The hides are tanned without harsh chemicals and conditioners. They are unique and celebrated for their natural quality and authenticity. This one-of-a-kind chair is very special and deserves a very special and beautiful room to live.
